Happy New Year Everyone! I hope 2013 is an awesome adventure for you! May you meet new people, have new experiences, and make a ton of memories! I know I will!
That last post was a bit of a downer, I'm sorry! I promise that this one will be better!
For starters, in less than a month I will be in Aalborg!
I will be there in 28 days!
As for the trip to New York or Washington D.C. or Chicago. Things have been resolved. After making many more phone calls and trying to schedule a flight that would allow me time to have all that done, I no longer have to do that!
My stress, anxiety, fear, and other emotions have been put on the back burner. Thank goodness!
I spent all of yesterday going through my documents, applications, and other important forms to ensure they were filled out correctly. Then I proceeded to make copies for my parents. And lastly, I emailed my host coordinator (Pat) to ensure she had all the documents she needed! Talk about a fun filled day!
This morning I had a very lovely conversation with the guy from the Danish Consulate in New York. He first informed me that Chicago was a viable option, if that was the route I wanted to take. After talking to him some more he proceeded to tell me that it could all be done in Denmark.
Yes, that is correct.
I can submit my application in Denmark.
And not have to worry about being deported.
Why was this never told to me before? I have no idea, but it sure feels good to know that this is an option!
However, there is a smaller downside to this, I cannot leave Denmark for either two months or 90 days. Pending on the approval status of my application.
So the tough questions comes down to whether or not I want to submit my application in America or Denmark?
Perhaps, I stop for a while in Chicago. It's a pretty nice place there! :)
